The Devine Power Paradox
Here is Christopher Hitchens in a debate with a religious person, doesn’t matter who it is since no one has really heard of him. This debate is actually trying to determine if its better to believe in faith or reason. I find it intriguing to now watch:
After watching this, I want you to think of what all this debate is really about. What is the true meaning behind it all, when you boil it down into its truest form? Its about Power. The power over others through your belief and if that belief isn’t shared, then you have the power over that other person because your power comes from a Devine source. However, that Devine source can never be proven to even exist! That’s because it is solely based on faith. The phrase “solely based on faith” refers to a belief, decision, or commitment made without evidence, proof, or logic, relying entirely on trust or conviction.
Where did he trust and conviction come from? It came from other religious people, that traveled to America all the back to its very first settlers in 1620. They were called the Puritans, they came here from England to escape the English Church that followed Catholicism instead of Calvinism. It is this group of fed up Christians that wanted a “more pure form” of Christianity if the Puritans weren’t the first settlers to rule over the “New World,” then the Christian faith would not have such a dominant hold over this country now in the president current day.
I was riding my bike in a church parking lot and saw a man pulling out a very expensive riding mower, to mow the grace of this church. So I asked him, “What kind for church is this?” He stated, “Pentecostal/Protestant.” Guess what the Puritans main Christian denomination was, you guessed it, Protestant. He then said, “we accept everyone into the church.” I then said “so its like Unity then” Unity, is a church that truly accepts everyone into their fold. He laughed and said, “No, not all denominations lead to salvation.” I road off thinking one thing; how does he know what the correct road to salvation is?
He knows it from another human being in his Christian denomination that told him that out of the 4,000 other Christian denominations that the one he believe in, is the one and true path to god’s salvation. Most likely it is the same denomination of his parents. Now what if I questioned him on his answer? keep in mind he thinks his denomination is the only true path to salvation. You can’t, that’s because all religions build an impenetrable mental brick wall inside a believer’s mind and that wall is built on absolutely no evidence what so ever! I mean this regarding EVERY RELIGION, not just Christianity that does this to all religious people on this planet. It even blocks the very foundation of reason in someone’s mind from being built, so that they can learn and enjoy their brief time of existence, not caring about what might happen after it or if they were ever born into sin.
Therefore, all religious belief is a lie being told to another human being. Why is this lie told? So that the religion itself can exist for centuries through out time. I like to call it a parental mind virus.
