How to Solve The US Immigration Problem
You can simply solve the US immigration problem by fixing 3 policies.
Charge migrants to pay for their own legal fees, instead of the US taxpayer
Prosecuting US employers for hiring undocumented immigrants
Get rid of Birth right Citizenship and change it to Citizenship by Decent
In the United States, the majority of costs associated with asylum seekers are funded by U.S. taxpayers. A 2023 Center for Immigration Studies estimate said each asylum seeker costs ~$3,000–$4,000 annually while their claim is pending (varies widely). This money should not be funded by the US taxpayer! So how should we handle the asylum seeking migrants? By simply charge them for the process instead of the US taxpayer! Charge them the total amount of $4 thousand: a $1000 to start the claim and a $3000 fee each year to continue the claim. I bet if this was in place the Immigration courts would not be backlogged with over 3 million cases as of 2024. Many asylum seeking claims take years to process. This money would go to the legal and administrative fees to process their claim instead of the US tax payer! Right now, all one has to do is say they seek asylum from such and such country and fill out a Form I‑589 and now the US taxpayer is stuck with the bill. During the Biden administration this was allowed:
Next prosecute employers for breaking an already existing immigration law. That law is called the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986. This law made it illegal for employers to knowingly hire or employ undocumented workers in the U.S. In just the past 5 years there have been only 10 employers prosecuted.
Key Requirements:
Employers must verify the identity and work authorization of all employees using Form I-9.
Employers cannot knowingly hire or continue to employ someone who isn’t authorized to work in the U.S.
E-Verify (optional federally, mandatory in some states) helps employers confirm immigration status with the government.
The movie above is a team of ICE officers breaking into a house to send migrants to a for profit ICE facility so that they can charge the US government a housing fee. Why, why the waste of money! Just think how much money is being wasted here. You have 10 ICE agent salaries, all the gear they seem to be wearing and that’s a fucking shape charge explosive their using to breach the fucking door! After all this trouble they were able to arrest a woman and her kid inside, not even the migrant worker was home! Its beyond stupid!
Why not simply prosecute the American employers that hire them! What if we gave corporations a choice when they hire illegal aliens they either pay a fine of 25k or fire their CEO? I bet this would severely cut down on companies from breaking the law. If your a staffing agency that decides to do this you will no longer be in business if they attempt it. How’s that, now who wants to come to America and make no money! Her are the most recent companies that have been fined for their hiring practices of illegals.
Sadly this number should be much larger and if it was, our immigration problem would be partially solved, since no one would come to America if they couldn’t be employed.
I would also have them fill out a work skills form which would show what benefiting skills does this person bring to America, if they are allowed into the country. Put all this info in a database so that when a certain skill set is required the people with those skills get let in first. Until then, they stay in Mexico not the United States!
The final policy to solve the immigration problem is by changing “birth right citizenship” to “citizenship by decent.” Which simply means, ONE of the parents of the child being born, has to ALREADY be a US citizen. The UK implemented this change in 1982! But not America, because we have the 14th amendment! This would forbid any more illegal undocumented people from the incentive of coming here to have what is commonly known as an “anchor babe.” I know its a harsh way of thinking about this issue, but it is exactly how 150 other countries simply solved their immigration problem, except for the United States!
If these 3 changes were made to US immigration, you would see the numbers drastically change. Because now you need monetary compensation to be here if you want in. All the loopholes of anchor babies are now gone so no one can simply cross the boarder have their child here for free and now their an American. If you do make here illegally, CEOs wont take the risk for losing THEIR job over hiring them. This would absolutely fix everything from the top down but nothing will ever fucking change! Because our politicians need immigration to still be an unsolvable problem to run on.
